Our events usually are an opportunity to learn about Africa and the Blue House, while having fun and meeting others who care about helping vulnerable children in Africa.
Mothers' Tea, Saturday, May 13, 2017, the day before Mothers' Day, at St. Anthony Park Lutheran Church. A fun family fundraiser, in honor of mothers. Remember the girls who don't have a mother.
Pine Valley Blue House Race, Monday, Labor Day, Sept. 4, 2017, Pine Valley, Cloquet, MN. A 5.5k and 11k run. Plus the Lost Forester off-trail race. Fun for the Family!
Blue House Boutique, annually the first weekend in December: Saturday, Dec. 2-3, 2017. Find beautiful handmade gifts -- all donated -- and Africa crafts. Enjoy a homemade Saturday lunch. If you want to donate hand-made gifts or volunteer, contact Marianneat 651-262-4286 or Mary at 651-739-6263.
Aine Abel and Oscar Mugabi in Minnesota -- Summer, 2014,the Director of the Blue House in Uganda and secretary of the Ugandan board visited and attended several events to tell the story of the orphanage. They also spent a lot of time with the Minnesota board planning for the future of the Blue House.
Rummage Sale -- July, 2013, St. Matthew's Episcopal Church. This was successful enough to do again. We need someone to take charge for future sales. There are lots of volunteers to run it.
African Dinner -- 2010, a celebration of the completion of the new Blue House. Architect and on-site project manager, Jeffrey Potts spoke: “Six Months in Kazo.”
